Hydraulics. A maze is mounted onto the platform. The visitor guides the ball through the maze by adjusting the length of the cylinders.
Hydraulics is used to raise and lower platforms in different directions. Increasing the pressure inside the cylinder will push the platform up, while releasing oil pressure will cause the platform to sink down. If air is used instead of oil, it is called pneumatics. Hydraulics and pneumatics are often used to control the platforms of large simulators.
