This exhibit illustrates the different communication networks for telephone. Visitors are able to connect persons in a schematic model of the earth. In the model they see lines light up between technical components that illustrates the connection being created.
The World is covered by a big communication network. When people make a telephone call they use this network in different ways. When people use their mobile phone they send radiowaves to a nearby receiver. This receiver transfers the call into the under-ground cable network. In some occasions satellites are used for data transmission.
- Pick up the phone and select a destination.
- Listen to the explanation and look at the dynamic model.
