The exhibit shows that the effects of inherited genes are not blended.
Visi-tors can test this by combining a partial reflection of themselves with a partial view of an opposing person, a family member for example.
This mirror gives the ability to generate a view of your face with parts from others. If you compare yourself with family members for example you could see similarities you have inherited from each other or determine in how far you have different properties. Each offspring inherits a part of the parents’ genes. The combination and phenotype of these genes define what you look like and in how far you inherit specific characteristics.
- Take a seat at one side of the mirror and invite someone else to sit on the other side.
- Look at the mirror and notice your reflection blend with that of your opponent.
