Description
The ‘Water Scale’ demonstrates in an interactive way how much water our bodies consist of. The exhibit calculates the amount of water in the body based on your weight. This amount of water is represented in the torso by the height of (colored) water in a tube. You can also read the number of liters of water in your body on a display.
This exhibit helps raise awareness of how important water is in our lives. A female body consists of about half water. In men, it’s slightly more, and a baby is even made up of 75% water!
All this water is necessary, among other things, for absorbing nutrients, regulating body temperature, and transporting nutrients and waste products in the blood. If you don’t have enough fluid in your body, you can get sick. Severe dehydration can even be fatal.
